Tongue stimulator tested to help stroke survivors walk better

NCT ID NCT06470009

Summary

This study is testing whether a portable mouthpiece device called PoNS, when used alongside physical therapy exercises, can safely improve walking and balance problems in people who had a stroke more than six months ago. Participants are randomly assigned to use either the real device or a look-alike placebo device while doing guided exercises for 12 weeks. The main goal is to see if the active device helps more than the placebo and to check for any safety issues.
