New drug combo shows promise for hard-to-treat myeloma

NCT ID NCT03731832

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tested a combination of three drugs (pomalidomide, ixazomib, and dexamethasone) with or without a fourth drug (cyclophosphamide) in 66 adults with multiple myeloma that had come back or stopped responding to treatment. The goal was to see how well the drugs could control the cancer. Participants took the drugs by mouth, and the study measured how many people's tumors shrank or stabilized. This is not a cure, but aims to manage the disease.
