New drug combo takes on superbug pneumonia in hospitals

Summary
This study tests whether a combination of intravenous and inhaled polymyxin E2 can safely treat pneumonia caused by carbapenem-resistant bacteria in hospitalized or ventilated patients. About 48 adults will receive either the experimental treatment or a control. The goal is to see if more patients achieve clinical cure and bacterial clearance.
