Summary

This study compares two methods for making the initial cut in POEM, a minimally invasive surgery for swallowing problems like achalasia. About 140 adults will be randomly assigned to have either a horizontal or vertical incision. The goal is to see which approach allows doctors to enter the tunnel faster and with fewer complications.
