First human test for new sickle cell pill begins

Summary
This is an early safety study to see how the body absorbs and processes a new tablet called pociredir in people with sickle cell disease. It will enroll about 24 participants to test the drug when taken on an empty stomach and after a meal. The main goal is to measure the drug's levels in the blood over time and check for any side effects.
