New pill offers hope for stubborn anemia in rare blood disease

NCT ID NCT07052838

Summary

This study tested whether a new tablet called HSK39297 could help patients with a rare blood disease called PNH who still have low red blood cell counts (anemia) despite being on standard antibody therapy. The goal was to see if the tablet could safely raise hemoglobin levels enough to avoid the need for blood transfusions. The trial involved 36 adult patients who had been on stable standard treatment for at least six months but still had significant anemia.
