New pneumonia vaccine shows promise in older adults

Summary
This study tested a new pneumococcal vaccine (SP0202) in 750 healthy adults aged 50 to 84. The goal was to see how well it triggered an immune response and how safe it was compared to two existing vaccines (Prevnar 13 and Pneumovax 23). Participants received a single shot and were monitored for side effects and antibody levels. The results help determine if the new vaccine could better protect older adults from pneumonia and related infections.
