New pneumonia vaccine tested on 400 chinese seniors
NCT ID NCT07019909
Summary
This study tested the safety and immune response of two pneumonia vaccines in Chinese adults aged 50 and older who had never received a pneumococcal vaccine before. Four hundred participants received either the newer 20-strain vaccine or the established 13-strain vaccine, with researchers monitoring side effects and immune responses over six months. The goal was to gather initial safety data to determine if the newer vaccine could be studied further in this population.
