Stroke treatment trial tests 'Plunger' technique against standard method

NCT ID NCT07231380

Summary

This study compares two different ways doctors use suction to remove blood clots during stroke treatment. About 500 stroke patients across 20 hospitals will be randomly assigned to receive either a rhythmic 'plunger' suction technique or continuous suction. Researchers want to see which method is better at removing the clot on the first try and leads to better recovery.
