New device aims to protect nipples during top surgery
NCT ID NCT06502353
Summary
This pilot study is testing a device called Plexaa (BLOOM43) that patients use on their breast the night before gender-affirming mastectomy surgery. The goal is to see if preconditioning the tissue improves the patient's experience and helps reduce serious complications like nipple graft loss. Researchers will enroll 15 transgender and non-binary adults to gather initial feedback on the device's usability and its effect on surgical outcomes.
