Summary
This completed study looked back at medical records of 300 adult patients with fluid buildup around their lungs (pleural effusion) treated at Mansoura University Hospital in Egypt. Researchers analyzed patient data to understand what causes this condition in their local population, including how many cases were due to cancer, infections, heart problems, or other diseases. The goal was to create better local guidelines for diagnosing these cases and reducing unnecessary tests.
