Summary
This study tested a drug called plecanatide in 218 children aged 6 to 17 with irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C). The goal was to see if it increases bowel movements and reduces belly pain compared to a placebo. Participants took the drug or placebo daily for 4 weeks and kept symptom diaries. The trial aimed to find the right dose and check safety in this age group.
