Healing through play: can games mend young minds after a devastating earthquake?
NCT ID NCT06845111
Summary
This study tested a special play-based program designed to help young children (ages 4-6) recover from the psychological trauma of a major earthquake in Turkey. The program, called TOTEM, used therapeutic play to help children express their feelings, reduce anxiety, and improve their sleep and overall well-being. Researchers worked with 53 children who were victims of the earthquake to see if the play sessions made a positive difference.
