Can a platelet boost stop a brain bleed?

NCT ID NCT06433622

Summary

This study is testing if giving platelet transfusions to patients with severe traumatic brain bleeds who are on blood-thinning medications helps improve their blood's ability to clot and slows down the bleeding in their brain. Researchers will enroll about 225 adults and measure clotting function before and after the transfusion, and check if the brain bleed stabilizes on a follow-up scan. The goal is to see if this treatment helps control the bleed and reduces the need for brain surgery.
