Zapping foot wounds with plasma to stop amputations

NCT ID NCT07073040

Summary

This study is testing whether a treatment called cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) can help heal stubborn foot ulcers in people with diabetes and poor leg circulation. After participants have a standard procedure to open blocked leg arteries, they will receive either the CAP treatment or a placebo on their wound. Researchers will measure how quickly the ulcers shrink and look for any side effects, aiming to find a better way to prevent infections and amputations.
