First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This pilot study tested whether a non-thermal plasma (NTP) device can help heal painful mouth ulcers faster and with less pain. Fifty adults with recurrent oral ulcers were randomly assigned to receive NTP, standard laser therapy, or a placebo. Researchers measured ulcer size, pain levels, and healing time to see if NTP shows promise for a larger future trial.
