Can plant protein match whey for building muscle as we age?
NCT ID NCT06628349
Summary
This study aims to understand how different types of protein—from plants (soy, pea) and dairy (whey)—affect the body's ability to build and maintain muscle in older adults, particularly those with age-related muscle loss (sarcopenia). Researchers will give 100 participants liquid meals containing different proteins and measure how their bodies process the nutrients. The goal is to gather scientific knowledge that could inform future dietary advice for preventing muscle loss.
