Can a simple ultrasound spot hidden clues to pregnancy dangers?

NCT ID NCT07422181

First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study explores whether a special ultrasound with contrast dye can clearly show tiny blood vessels (spiral arteries) in the womb right after a baby is delivered. These vessels are key for a healthy pregnancy, and problems with them can lead to serious conditions like pre-eclampsia. By testing this imaging method in 5 women, researchers hope to develop a way to detect these issues earlier in future pregnancies, allowing doctors to intervene sooner.
