Landmark study seeks to unlock secrets of dangerous pregnancy condition

NCT ID NCT02010229

Summary

This study aimed to understand what factors lead to serious complications in pregnant women at high risk for a condition called placenta accreta, where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterus. Researchers followed 674 women in France who had a previous C-section and a low-lying placenta to see how well ultrasound and MRI could predict the condition and to measure the physical and emotional impact on mothers up to a year after birth.
