NCT ID NCT06119048

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested how people who carry the gene for PKU (but don't have the disease) respond to a dose of phenylalanine, an amino acid found in food. 56 adults (carriers and non-carriers) took a phenylalanine drink, then had their thinking, mood, blood pressure, and blood/urine markers measured. The goal was to understand if carriers have different metabolic or cognitive reactions, which could guide future nutrition advice.
