Volunteers fight hospital bedrest: new study aims to keep seniors moving
NCT ID NCT06017934
First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether trained volunteers can help older adults (65+) do simple exercises while in the hospital. The goal is to prevent muscle weakness and loss of mobility that often happens during a hospital stay. Researchers will test this in three different hospitals and compare results to usual care. They will also interview patients, volunteers, and staff to see if the program is practical and well-liked.
