Can a simple pill beat standard care for serious kidney infections?

Summary
This study tests whether an oral antibiotic called pivmecillinam works as well as standard treatments for febrile urinary tract infections (UTIs) in adults. Hospitalized patients who have already responded to IV antibiotics will be randomly assigned to pivmecillinam or usual care. Researchers will check if symptoms and bacteria clear up 7 and 28 days after treatment ends, and monitor side effects.
