First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a natural oil called Pistacia lentiscus (mastic oil) can help prevent repeat sinus infections in adults with chronic rhinosinusitis. One hundred participants were followed for a year. Some used the oil drops plus a saltwater rinse, while others used only the saltwater rinse. The goal was to see if the oil could reduce symptoms and keep the sinuses healthier.
