Major trial launches for incurable Miner's lung disease

NCT ID NCT05288179

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called pirfenidone can help people with pneumoconiosis, a serious lung disease caused by dust inhalation. Over 52 weeks, 272 patients will take either the drug or a placebo pill to see if it can slow the decline in their lung function. The goal is to find a treatment that can control the progression of this currently incurable condition.
