Summary
This study compared two existing diabetes medications—pioglitazone and metformin—to see which works better for managing insulin resistance in women with PCOS. Sixty women with PCOS and confirmed insulin resistance took one of the drugs daily for three months. Researchers measured changes in hormone levels, body measurements, and insulin sensitivity to determine which medication provided better control of PCOS symptoms.
