Pineapple power: could a fruit enzyme beat steroids for mouth pain?
NCT ID NCT06981767
Summary
This study is testing whether a cream made from bromelain, a natural enzyme found in pineapples, can work as well as standard steroid creams to treat painful mouth sores caused by oral lichen planus. It will involve 42 adults with the condition, who will apply one of the two creams to their sores for four weeks. Researchers will measure how much the sores shrink and how much pain people feel to see which treatment works better.
