Study withdrawn: did less invasive surgery work as well for painful skin condition?

NCT ID NCT01241136

Summary

This study aimed to compare two surgical approaches for treating pilonidal disease, a chronic skin infection near the tailbone. It planned to randomly assign patients to either a traditional wide excision or a newer, less invasive minimal excision. The main goals were to see which method had a lower recurrence rate over two years and which led to better patient satisfaction, including less pain and faster recovery.
