Surgery study aims to find best way to heal painful buttock cyst
NCT ID NCT07311707
Summary
This study compared two common surgeries for pilonidal sinus disease, a painful, chronic skin condition near the tailbone. Researchers randomly assigned 60 patients to have their cyst either stitched closed right after removal or left open to heal on its own. The goal was to see which method led to faster healing, fewer infections, and lower chance of the cyst coming back.
