First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study gathered video recordings from over 3,700 patients who had a standard PillCam SB3 procedure to examine their small intestine. The goal was to build a large database of images showing both healthy and diseased tissue. Researchers will use this data to develop and improve computer algorithms that can automatically detect conditions like ulcers, polyps, and cancer. No new treatments or procedures were tested; the study focused on collecting information for future advancements.
