Pilates vs. running: which is better for fat loss and muscle gain?

NCT ID NCT07107061

Summary

This study aimed to find out if Pilates is as effective as aerobic exercise (like running) for improving body composition—specifically reducing fat and building lean muscle. Researchers enrolled 80 young women who were not currently exercising and assigned them to do Pilates, aerobic training, a combination of both, or no exercise for 12 weeks. They used precise scans to measure changes in body fat and muscle mass to see which workout method worked best.
