First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study follows 800 adults who survived a stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) to understand how many develop post-intensive care syndrome (PICS)—a condition involving physical, thinking, or emotional problems. Researchers will check participants at 3, 6, and 12 months after leaving the hospital. The goal is to learn how common PICS is and how it changes over time, which can help improve care for future ICU survivors.
