Playtime prescription: study tests active fun for kids with heart conditions
NCT ID NCT04619745
First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a 6-month, home-based, parent-led physical activity program can help young children (3 months to 6 years) born with heart defects get the recommended 180 minutes of daily activity after heart surgery or catheterization. The goal was to see if such a program is possible to run and measure, not to prove it works. 43 children took part, and the results will help design a larger future study.
