Summary

This study tested whether a gel containing PHTALOX® could help treat periodontitis, a serious gum infection. 45 adults with moderate to severe gum disease received standard deep cleaning plus either the PHTALOX® gel, a chlorhexidine gel, or a placebo gel. The main goal was to see if the gel reduced the depth of gum pockets after 45 days.
