Can a simple phone call save lives from blood poisoning?
NCT ID NCT06249451
Summary
This study tested whether regular phone calls using a checklist could help doctors better follow established treatment guidelines for Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB), a serious blood infection. Researchers enrolled 124 adult hospital patients with a new SAB diagnosis to see if this support improved care processes and patient recovery. The goal was to see if structured remote guidance leads to more consistent, high-quality treatment and better health outcomes.
