First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 18, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study is testing whether the prescription weight-loss medication phentermine is safe and effective for teenagers aged 12-18 who have obesity. About 240 teens will take either the real medication or a placebo (sugar pill) for one year, and researchers will track changes in their weight and any side effects. The goal is to see if this drug can help control weight in adolescents when used alongside lifestyle changes.
