Could a common diet pill help teens lose weight?

NCT ID NCT07282340

Summary

This study is testing whether the medication phentermine can help teens aged 12-17 with obesity reduce their body mass index (BMI) over one year. About 240 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real medication or a placebo pill, and neither they nor their doctors will know which one they get. The main goal is to see if the drug is effective and safe for this younger age group, as it is commonly used in adults.
