New PKU test could make daily monitoring easier
NCT ID NCT05998109
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested a new device called PheCheck that measures phenylalanine levels from a finger-prick blood sample in people with PKU. The goal was to see if the results are as accurate as the standard lab test and if people find it easy to use at home. Thirty participants aged 10 and older took part. If proven accurate, this could offer a simpler way to monitor PKU without needing a lab visit.
