NCT ID NCT06225167
First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether a pharmacist-led program could safely reduce the use of acid-suppressing drugs given to prevent stress ulcers in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. 120 adults in the ICU were included, and those without high-risk conditions had their stomach acid medication stopped. The goal was to see if this approach could lower side effects like pneumonia and C. diff infections without increasing dangerous stomach bleeding.
