First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested a special lens implant (phakic IOL) to improve near vision in 41 adults with presbyopia, an age-related condition that makes reading small print difficult. Participants received the lens in one eye, and researchers measured how many could see 20/40 or better at arm's length six months later. The goal was to reduce dependence on reading glasses.
