Virus vs. superbug: inhaled phage therapy fights stubborn lung infection

NCT ID NCT05616221

Summary

This study tested whether inhaling a special virus mixture (called AP-PA02) could safely reduce a hard-to-treat bacteria in the lungs of people with bronchiectasis. It involved 48 adults with a chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either the active treatment or a placebo to compare safety and effectiveness.
