Scientists search for blood clue to predict heart issue in tiny preemies
NCT ID NCT07338370
Summary
This study aims to understand if measuring a natural chemical in the blood (PGE2) can help predict which very premature babies will develop a serious heart condition called hemodynamically significant patent ductus arteriosus (hsPDA). Researchers will observe 34 preterm infants in the NICU to see if their initial PGE2 levels are linked to the severity of this heart problem. The goal is to gather knowledge that might help doctors identify at-risk babies earlier.
