New study aims to sharpen brain tumor tracking with PET imaging
NCT ID NCT07159607
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study is looking at how well PET scans can track brain tumor changes in people with IDH-mutant gliomas (a type of brain cancer). Researchers want to see if PET scans can tell the difference between tumor growth and treatment side effects better than standard MRI. About 100 adults from two hospitals in Germany and Austria will have their routine PET and MRI data collected and compared over time. The goal is to improve future guidelines for monitoring these tumors, not to test a new treatment.
