Can a simple drug get your gut moving again after surgery?

Summary
This study tests whether pyridostigmine, a medication, can safely help the bowel start working again after colon or rectal surgery. About 50 adults who develop a slow bowel (postoperative ileus) after surgery will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if the drug speeds up passing gas and stool, and to monitor any side effects.
