First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a personalized treatment plan, based on a person's genetics and the specific bacteria causing the infection, can cure H. pylori better than the standard antibiotic mix. About 360 veterans with an active H. pylori infection will be randomly assigned to either the personalized or standard treatment for 14 days. The main goal is to see which approach clears the infection more effectively, with fewer side effects.
