First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a personalized approach to radiation therapy for people with stage III lung cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. During standard chemo-radiation, doctors used PET scans to see how the tumor was responding and adjusted the radiation dose to target stubborn areas. The goal was to improve local tumor control without increasing side effects. The trial involved 158 participants and focused on whether this tailored approach could keep the cancer from growing back in the chest.
