Doctors test if less radiation is just as good for throat cancer

NCT ID NCT07268690

Summary

This study is testing a more personalized approach to radiation therapy for nasopharyngeal cancer, which starts in the upper throat. For patients with certain low-risk features, doctors want to see if they can safely skip radiation to one specific area of the neck (called Level Va) without reducing the chance of survival or the cancer coming back. The goal is to provide strong evidence to help guide more tailored, and potentially less harsh, radiation treatments in the future.
