Custom breathing settings aim to protect lungs during surgery

NCT ID NCT07387822

Summary

This study compares two approaches to managing breathing machines during lung surgery. Researchers want to see if customizing air pressure settings for each patient reduces lung complications like pneumonia in the week after surgery. The trial will include 352 adults having planned video-assisted chest surgery. One group gets standard settings, while the other gets personalized settings adjusted to their specific lung needs.
