First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study reviewed 31 earlier studies to better understand how common impacted canine teeth are, where they get stuck, what causes it, and how to diagnose it. The review found that upper canine impaction affects about 1% to 7% of people, often toward the roof of the mouth. Common causes include baby teeth that don't fall out, crowded dental arches, extra teeth, and growths. The study did not test any new treatment or intervention.
