First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tests if using focused ultrasound to modify fat around the kidneys can safely lower blood pressure in people whose hypertension doesn't respond to three or more medications. About 220 adults with resistant hypertension will receive either the real ultrasound or a sham procedure. The main goal is to see if the treatment reduces average 24-hour blood pressure after 6 months.
