Summary

This study looks at whether treating gum disease (periodontitis) changes certain proteins linked to heart disease. Researchers will check two genetic markers (Cofilin-2 and lactoferrin) in 84 adults with and without coronary heart disease before and after a deep cleaning. The goal is to better understand how gum health and heart health are connected.
