Gum fluid proteins may reveal secrets of dental implant disease
NCT ID NCT07379892
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at levels of three specific proteins (TREM-1, MMP-8, and TIMP-1) in the fluid around dental implants in people with peri-implantitis, a gum disease affecting implants. Researchers measured these proteins in 54 healthy participants to see if they are linked to the condition. The goal was to better understand the disease, not to test a treatment.
